Why don't we try harder to understand each other? This question fascinates filmmaker Bobbie Fay Brandsen and drives her into making socially urgent docs, often examining cultural differences while looking for common ground.

With her films The Boys Next Door (2017) and The Babies Next Door (2020), Brandsen managed to create an impact within the social housing sector in Amsterdam, bringing residents, experts, and policymakers together during many impact screenings, facilitating essential conversations.

Brandsen graduated as a documentary director from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2017. Since graduation, she has taught herself the craft of cinematography, (impact) production, editing, and podcasting, resulting in an independent all-around film and podcast making practice.

In addition to working as a documentary director, Brandsen also works as a creative coach & film teacher.
